| Purpose:
To encourage students to consider careers that will improve adolescent nutrition and fitness. |

| Qualifications:
Applicants must California students of African-American, American
Indian, Alaska Native, Asian-American, Pacific Islander or
Latino/Hispanic descent; graduate applicants must be enrolled in an
approved master level or doctoral graduate program in Nutrition, Public
Health, Physical Education, or American Dietetic Association; must have
approved pre-professional practice program at an accredited university
in California; must have 12-15 units of graduate course work; must have
3.0 GPA or higher; applicants must be enrolled in an approved bachelor
level program in Nutrition or Physical Education at an accredited
university in California; must have 50 semester units of college credits
completed; must have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Criteria: Selection will be based on the evaluation of submitted documents and specific criteria. |
| Funds:
No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; completed Statement of Financial Status; two recommendation letters from two individuals; letter describing academic goals and involvement in community nutrition; a 500-1,000-word essay; photograph of own self (billfold size or larger); one copy of an official transcript of graduate course work to 12-15 units (for graduate applicants) or official transcripts of all college work to accrue 50 units (for undergraduate applicants). Deadline: March 31. Applicants must mail original and three additional copies of each document except transcript and photo. |
