Qualifications: Applicants must be United States citizens; must be African-American females; must be enrolled as college sophomores or juniors in an accredited college or university; must be majoring in journalism, economics or related field (public policy, creative writing, etc.); and must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement and financial need.
Funds: No specific amount.
To Apply: Applicants must complete the scholarship application online and submit a 1000-word essay on their career plans and their relevance to the Dr. Julianne Malveaux Program Theme: "Black Women's Hands Can Rock the World."
Deadline: March 1.
